"Family is where Love is"

With the changing times and societal shifts, the structure of “Family” has become diversified,
including multi-generational families, single-person households, divorced families,
foster families, pet families, and long-distance families etc.

Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (HKFWS) firmly believes that "Where there is love, there is a family".
Love serves as the cornerstone for building and maintaining family wellbeing.
Regardless of how the world changes, and even if individuals are physically apart,
love connects every "family" in various forms. This connection extends beyond blood relatives;
as long as you and the members share love, happiness, and mutual care, that is where “family” exist.

"Family" is where parents nurture. I will take care of my parents no matter how their physical condition may change.
"Family" is shelter from the storm, keeping everyone warm. It’s a place one wishes to stay forever.
"Family" is an Eden, a place where I find eternal bliss and peace. I feel safe, joyful, and happy there.
"Family" is the sanctuary of the soul, where warmth and hug, laughter and tears leave imprints on the passage of time.
Your family loves you and love bonds us together!
"Family" is a place where one can find comfort and support.
"Family" is a warm harbour, a place filled with love.
"Family" is where I find the people I love and who love me.
"Family" is the cozy nest that provides me with unconditional support and care.

Since our establishment in 1949, the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (the Society) has held fast to our "family-centric" perspective. With love and passion, we have continuously actualised our mission in serving families and the community, enhanced our service quality and innovated services to meet the changing needs and promote the wellbeing of families and the Hong Kong community. Time flies, this year marks a significant milestone as the Society celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Milestones

Since 1938, HKFWS has established its presence in Hong Kong, providing services to the residents. With a history deeply rooted in Hong Kong for 75 years, HKFWS has consistently upheld the belief of "Family Matters" and is committed to delivering high-quality professional social services.

Over the years, HKFWS has continuously progressed in response to social changes and developments. In the 1970s, the Society pioneered counseling services, school social work services, family life education, and domestic helper assistance. Today, HKFWS has further expanded its services to include various preventive measures, covering mental health services for all age groups, financial education, and services for divorced families. Additionally, numerous pilot programmes have been introduced to address service gaps in society.
